Burnett Neighborhood Library
Directions - The Burnett Neighborhood Library is located at 560 E. Hill Street, at the southeast corner of Hill Street and Atlantic Avenue. The library has two parking lots; one lot is off Linden Avenue and the other is off Hill Street.

History
Although the Burnett Neighborhood was built in 1969, it could be considered Long Beach's first branch library. The original Burnett Neighborhood Library was established in a classroom of Burnett Elementary School in 1910 and moved to its present site in 1924. The 'new' Burnett Neighborhood Library celebrated its 30th anniversary in 1999. It is a spacious building featuring warm wood tones, floor to ceiling windows, and two shady patios. The papier-mache statues of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which decorate the children's area have been a beloved landmark for neighborhood children for more than 20 years. Facilities - The community meeting room has a capacity of 90 and is available on a rental basis.
- Two outdoor bookdrops located near the front entrance are open when the library is closed.
Equipment - This neighborhood library offers computers with Internet access, the library catalog, a community resource file, and various on-line reference resources.
- A library card number is needed to access the Internet. Access is on a first come basis and is limited to 30 minutes per day. Printing cost is $.15 per page.
- In addition, the library has a computer with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, and Microsoft Excel available for a fee of $3.00 per hour plus $.15 per page for printing.
- Each Family Learning Center (FLC) has English-As-A-Second-Language (ESL) software available for public use. Parents and students wishing to improve their English language skills are encouraged to come in and use the software.
- A photocopy machine makes black and white copies for $.15 per page.
