Veterans Day Festival at Michelle Obama Library

Join the Michelle Obama Library on Saturday, November 11th, 2017, for a Veterans Day Festival, celebrating and remembering those who served.

Visit the Mobile Studio and learn how to print a 3D dog tag with 3D printers from our makerspaces or join the Shared Science and local Girl Scout troops for STEM activities and a photobooth.. Veterans are encourages to participate in the Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center, preserving personal accounts of American war veterans for future generations. Photo reproductions will be on display from the from the LBPL Digital Archive.

Showing All Day in the Large Community Room:

  • "Long Days Working Hard", a documentary about the West Coast World War II experience.  Long Beach, California is highlighted as a community uniquely positioned to fully participate in the war effort, including ship-building, aircraft manufacturing, petroleum production, Navy activity and more.

11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.:

  • Guest Speaker, David Kelly

12:00 p.m. - 130 p.m.:

  • Live music and DJ in the Learning Garden, featuring the Retro Swing Band
